How it works

How does certification work?

Truth-Check turns your smartphone into a certified camera. Every capture is sealed with its metadata to create tamper-proof digital evidence.

The process

From capture to proof in 3 steps

01

Capture with the certified camera

Open Truth-Check and take your photo or video directly from the app. No imports allowed: only direct capture guarantees authenticity. The app automatically records the date, time, GPS location, and device model.

02

Instant cryptographic sealing

Upon capture, Truth-Check creates a unique digital fingerprint (cryptographic hash) of your image and its metadata. This fingerprint is stored immutably in our digital vault. Any modification, even a single pixel, would be immediately detectable.

03

Share and verify

A unique certificate is generated with a verification code (e.g., TC-E5A7B2C9D3) and a public link truth-check.com/{code}. Anyone can instantly verify the authenticity of the photo or video by visiting this link — no app needed.

Technology

Technical guarantees

SHA-256 cryptographic hashing

Each image is protected by a SHA-256 hash, the same standard used by banks and blockchains. Any alteration invalidates the certificate.

Metadata sealed at source

Date, time, GPS coordinates, device model, and resolution are captured at the exact moment of the shot and can no longer be modified.

Secure European storage

Your data is hosted on Firebase (Google Cloud) in the European region (eur3: Belgium and Netherlands), encrypted in transit and at rest.

Universal public verification

Each certificate is accessible via a public web page. No app, account, or special software needed to verify evidence.
